The PROOF (test/trustworthiness) you serve others!

Philippians 2.22-30 (text at bottom)

I. Serve others that preach the Gospel

DO I serve others that have given of their lives to spread the Gospel?? It is NOT an option but a necessity! I NEED to help and they NEED my help!

II. Companion in labor; fellow soldier; minister to others' wants; messenger

AM I a "companion in labor" with those who ARE laboring?

AM I a "fellow soldier" realizing and seeing the warfare around me?

DO I minister to others' needs AND wants?

AM I a messenger of the Good News of the Gospel?!

III. Not regarding my own life for the work of Christ

WHAT do I tangibly DO to put the work of Christ before myself???

Do I consistently sacrifice to do the work of Christ?

“But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel. Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me. But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly. Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.” (Phil 2:22-30 KJVS)

Putting the Things that are Christ's FIRST and NOT my Own Thi

Philippians 2.12-21 (text below)

Aim: To seek NOT my "own" things but the things which are Christ's

Subject Sentence: Seek what is Christ's and not my own.

I. WORK OUT!!! With the ENERGY He has put in me!

Work out (do/work/perform/cause) my salvation (rescue or safety physically or morally) with fear and trembling, knowing that it is God that is working (ENERGIO – providing ENERGY to be fervent/effectual/doing/showing forth) in ME to both WILL (decide) and to DO (ENERGIO – put ENERGY into!) His good pleasure (accomplish what delights HIM in our lives – the things that are GOOD!)

Application questions:

Am I WORKING OUT what He is working in ME to do – He has given me ENERGY to do things that are GOOD and what DELIGHTS Him – am I putting forth the ENERGY He has given me to be fervent, effectual, DO, and show forth His ways in my life today??!!

WORK IT OUT – am I working it out with fear and trembling, knowing I WILL give account if I let His energy lay waste?

II. Do all things without murmuring and disputing, holding forth the Word of life.

Appplication questions:

Am I irreproachable and innocent?

Do I hold forth, paying attention to, the LOGOS of ZOE – the Word of LIFE –

being a DOER of the Word and not just a hearer? It isn't doing any good just because He provided the energy to do good things if I don't PUT FORTH the energy to accomplish those things in my life!!!

III. Offer yourself for the sacrifice and service of others' faith – care for the state of others, seeking the things that are Christ's.

Application questions:

How do I seek the things which are Christ's and help others' faith and state?

What TANGIBLE things am I doing TODAY for others and their furtherance of faith, which is actually seeking the things which are Christ's heart?

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all. For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me. But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state. For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.”

Being Under Satan's Yoke

Subject: Satan's Meeting

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons...

In his opening address Satan said,

"We can't keep Christians from going to church. We can't keep them
from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth.... We can't even
keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their SAVIOR."

"Once they gain that connection with JESUS, our power over them is broken.
So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, but

steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with JESUS
CHRIST."

"This is what I want you to do," said the devil. "Distract them from gaining hold

of their SAVIOR. Distract them from maintaining that vital connection throughout
their day!"

"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to
occupy their minds," Satan answered... "Tempt them to spend, spend, spend,
and borrow, borrow, borrow. Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and
the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford
their empty lifestyles. Keep them from spending time with their children. As their
families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"

"Over-stimulate their minds, so that they cannot hear that still, small voice. Entice them

to play the radio or I-Pod whenever they drive. Encourage them to Keep the TV, DVD's,
CD's and their PC's going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and
restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly. This will jam their minds and
break that union with CHRIST."

"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers. Pound their minds with the news

24 hours a day. Invade their driving moments with billboards. Flood their mailboxes with
junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and
promotional offering free products, services and false hopes."

"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV, so their husbands will believe

that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives.
Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night. Give them headaches too! If
they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere. That
will fragment their families quickly!"

"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning
of Christmas. Give them an Easter bunny, so they won't talk about HIS Resurrection or
HIS power over sin and death."

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive. Have them return from their recreation

exhausted. Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on GOD'S creation. Send
them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead."

"Keep them busy, busy, busy!"

"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk, so that

they leave with troubled consciences. Crowd their lives with so many good causes they
have no time to seek Power from JESUS. Soon they will be working in their own strength,
sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause."

"It will work! It will work! It is quite a plan!"

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get

busier and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time for GOD or their
families. Having no time to tell others about the power of JESUS to change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

You be the judge.

If You Can't Handle Basic Training You're Not Ready For WAR

"If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?" Jeremiah 12: 5
It is NO SURPRISE that we WILL have trouble in this world! This passage is very clear that on our own, we will be worn out, we will stumble, we willhave trouble competing and managing ourselves! We can not fight the good fight on our own!!
WE WILL FAIL MISERABLY!!!
But, our Lord doesn't leave us to fight the evils of this world on our own!
He reassures us that He is WITH us!!!
Strengthening us!!!
Upholding and Restoring us!!!
"Though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His Hand."
Psalm 37: 24
I LOVE the following verse;
"Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, You WILL RESTORE my life again; from the DEPTHS of the earth You will again BRING ME UP." Psalm 71: 20
"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73: 26
"In this world you will have trouble. But, take heart! I have OVERCOME the world."
John 16: 33
Thank You Father, for reminding us of the Strength we have in You!!! You offer to take our heavy yoke and give us Your light one!! It would be foolish for us to refuse such an offer! Thank You for taking care of our burdens! What a gift!! Thank You!
We all are (or have or will be) suffering one way or another in this world and we thank You Father that there WILL BE AN END!!! We can, also, Trust You to use whatever may be causing us to stumble, or be distracted, for Your Good!!!

WALK IT Don't just TALK IT!!!

Subject Sentence: To be a follower of God and look like our Father, we're to make choices differently than those that do not know Him!

I. Be followers of God – NOT doing improper things, BUT giving thanks.

Things not appropriate are not only fornication and uncleanness (physical or
moral impurity), but also covetousness, foolish talking, jesting (silly talking).

Application ??: Do I KNOW and DO what is APPROPRIATE and GOOD
and FITTING and PROPER? I need to be DIFFERENT than those who
don't proclaim Christ – how am I different??

II. We were once in darkness BUT not we are children of light!

We KNOW that those who live outside of Christ have no inheritance in
the Kingdom of Christ and God.

Application ??: Am I walking in LIGHT or CHOOSING to walk in
ways contrary/against the light Christ has given me by His Word and
presence? I need to be DIFFERENT than those who don't proclaim
Christ – how am I different??

III. Have no fellowship with UNFRUITFUL works of darkness BUT
reprove them!

Let the FRUIT of the Spirit be demonstrated in my life, and reprove
UNFRUITFUL works – this is a clear definition of walking in darkness,
doing things "not appropriate" – there is NO FRUIT/advantage in it!

Application ??: Is the fruit of the Spirit obvious in my life; and do I
ACTIVELY reprove the works of darkness by my life?? I need to be DIFFERENT than those who don't proclaim Christ – how am I different??

IV. Do not walk as fools, BUT as wise person: walking circumspectly (UNWILLING to take RISKS!!!), redeeming (regaining possession of!)
the time!

Whatever makes things OBVIOUS is LIGHT – am I making things
obvious by the light I live in??!!

Application ??: Do I live as a WISE person – unwilling to take risks –
REGAINING possession of my time and making it COUNT?? Or do
I WASTE the time Christ has given me?? I need to be DIFFERENT than those who don't proclaim Christ – how am I different??

V. Don't be unwise BUT understand ("perceive the significance of") what God's will is.

Application ??: Am I FOOLISH or do I "perceive the significance of" what God's
will is for my life? I need to be DIFFERENT than those who don't proclaim
Christ – how am I different??

Challenge: WALK it DON'T just TALK IT!!!

“THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]. And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance. But immorality (sexual vice) and all impurity [of lustful, rich, wasteful living] or greediness must not even be named among you, as is fitting and proper among saints (God’s consecrated people). Let there be no filthiness (obscenity, indecency) nor foolish and sinful (silly and corrupt) talk, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting or becoming; but instead voice your thankfulness [to God]. For be sure of this: that no person practicing sexual vice or impurity in thought or in life, or one who is covetous [who has lustful desire for the property of others and is greedy for gain]—for he [in effect] is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one delude and deceive you with empty excuses and groundless arguments [for these sins], for through these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of rebellion and disobedience. So do not associate or be sharers with them. For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light]. For the fruit (the effect, the product) of the Light or the Spirit [consists] in every form of kindly goodness, uprightness of heart, and trueness of life. And try to learn [in your experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [let your lives be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him]. Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead [let your lives be so in contrast as to] expose and reprove and convict them. For it is a shame even to speak of or mention the things that [such people] practice in secret. But when anything is exposed and reproved by the light, it is made visible and clear; and where everything is visible and clear there is light. Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light. Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit. Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord, At all times and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.”

(Eph 5:1-20 AMP)

GREAT GAIN

Thanks for the amazing reminder from Kim!

"But godliness with contentment is GREAT GAIN. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it." 1 Timothy 6: 6-7

Contentment! What a beautiful word! We all strive to be contentsatisfied, and just at peace with what we already have or what we are going through!!!

These verses remind us "we brought nothing into this world and we can take nothing out of it." Everything good we have is a gift from above!

Only Christ Himself can FILL the deep void we all have within us!
Not stuff,
not being married or being in a relationship,
    not having children,
not being pain or disease free,
nothing from this world can bring contentment! Only momentary happiness!
Only Christ can fill us to overflowing!

"I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content
whatever the circumstances." Philippians 4: 11

We can be at Peace with whatever we are going through,
we can have His Joy whether we have a little or a lot,
we always have His Hope of better things to come, and
through Him we have contentment with where we are in His Plan!

Father God, we Thank You for this reminder! We Thank You that we CAN be at Peace in this world! Help us not to center on worldly things that will ROB us of our Joy and Contentment! May we turn to SEE Your Face and all You have to offer us! Thank You for providing us with an Amazing  future!!

But that is not what you learned from Christ’s teachings!

Ephesians 4.17-32 (text below)

Subject Sentence of this passage:

Don't walk as ones who don't know Christ, in the uselessness and transience of their own understanding!

Aim of this passage:

(This passage would cause me to): Live up to what I know to do.

Breakdown of points:

I. (vv. 17-20) DO NOT walk in the uselessness of my mind, with obscured understanding, and alienated from the life of God through ignorance because of the callousness of my heart and thoughts.

Application ??: *Am I choosing to walk according to the way I think, eclipsing my understanding with the darkness that is in me rather than letting God direct my choices?
*What is ONE way I need to CHANGE to let GOD direct my choices instead of ME?
*Am I choosing to alienate or separate myself (literally "not be a participant") from the ZOE Spirit-filled purposeful life of God because of my hard hard and refusal to line my thoughts up with His Word and ways?
*What is ONE way I am literally "not a participant" in what God is directing me to do/be to have the amazing ZOE life He died to give me (and that I need to "die to self" to obtain)?

II. (vv. 21-24) PUT OFF corruption (to spoil by any process or to ruin by moral influences), according to deluding/deceiving longings, and be renovated and renewed in my understanding according to right-ness and true holiness!

Application ??: *What process or moral influences are corrupting me that I need to get away from?
(NOTE: BEWARE of the influences you allow in your life: be sure that you do NOT follow down the same road as someone who has arrived at a different destination than what you want for your own life – no matter how much you care about them be wise in following someone down the wrong path!)
*Do I have any deceiving (misleading; untrue) longings that need to be renovated (restored to a right state) or renewed (re-established) in my understanding to line up with what is RIGHT and HOLY (equity of character; free or pure from defilement)??

III. (vv. 25-28) DO NOT give the Devil OPPORTUNITIES in my life!
Stop lying! Speak truth! Don't be provoked/enraged/exasperated (irritated to ANGER); don't take another's property but WORK (work HARD; toil; be wearied) to get something!!!

Application ??: *WHAT AM I DOING that gives the Devil a change to work in my life (to ROB, STEAL, KILL and DESTROY what God has given me??)
*Am I lying (to others; to mySELF?!)
*Do I allow myself to be provoked/enraged rather than letting things go and giving them over to the Lord (when I am overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I am! - Psalm 61.2)
*Do I allow myself to be exasperated and irritated to the point of anger??!! (“Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life. - Eph 4:26-27 MESSAGE)
*Do I want stuff without working hard for it – by taking it from someone else?

IV. (vv. 29-32) Watch my mouth!!!
No WORTHLESS words showing bitterness (sharp piercing); wrath (fierce indignation); anger (violent passion); clamour (outcry); evil speaking (vilification/railing/obscenely abusive); malice (depravity/injury), but BUILDING worlds that give grace and don't grieve the Holy Spirit: kind (useful in manner or morals, better, EASY, good) tenderhearted (sympathetic), forgiving (kindly pardoning or forgiving) as I've been forgiven!

Application ??: *Are my words simply USELESS? Do I KNOW when to SHUT UP? Am I responsible to DO the Word and not just hear it?
*Do I sharply pierce with my words – do my words display violent passion, CLAMOUR (just make NOISE), are they railing on others, obscenely abusive, and vilifying (in a way that makes others feel of little worth), are my words injurious to others?
“A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it! It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell.” (James 3:5-6 MESSAGE)
*Are my words USEFUL in manner and morals? BETTER? EASY? GOOD? Sympathetic and forgiving – as I have been forgiven?

Challenge: TO TRULY LIVE WHAT I HAVE LEARNED IN CHRIST!!!

Ephesians 4:17-32: “And so I insist—and God backs me up on this—that there be no going along with the crowd, the empty-headed, mindless crowd. They’ve refused for so long to deal with God that they’ve lost touch not only with God but with reality itself. They can’t think straight anymore. Feeling no pain, they let themselves go in sexual obsession, addicted to every sort of perversion. But that’s no life for you. You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you. What this adds up to, then, is this: no more lies, no more pretense. Tell your neighbor the truth. In Christ’s body we’re all connected to each other, after all. When you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself. Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life. Did you used to make ends meet by stealing? Well, no more! Get an honest job so that you can help others who can’t work. Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift. Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted. Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.”

Standing Up for the TRUTH!!!

Thanks to Kim for the awesome reminder from the Word of God!

"He replied, 'Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: "These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.'" Mark 7: 6

The above was one of the verses used at our church this past Sunday! What powerful words, "these people HONOR ME with their lips, but their HEARTS are FAR FROM ME!"
How often do we Praise and Worship God when it fits into what we need? We Honor Him with our lips, but our hearts are far from what He stands for!!

Do we believe the WHOLE Bible? Or just the parts we think will provide Peace, Hope and Salvation? Do we DISMISS part of the Bible, so that living in our enviroment is easier and helps us get along with everyone? We either are FOR the ENTIRE WORD or we are AGAINST IT! We can't pick and choose what is easier for us! ALL of God's Word either stands for itself or it falls! What do you believe?
"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold not hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm- neither hot nor cold- I am about to spit you out of my mouth." Revelation 3: 15-16

Father God, there are so many issues that are in our face (accepting evolution, some churches endorsing practicing homosexuals, what marriage means, what we think our rights are, .....the list goes on and on), help us to KNOW what the TRUTH is and to STAND UP FOR IT!!! May our lips represent what our hearts know and feel!

Subtle Deceptions...

Today I was thinking of 1 Samuel chapter 5, when the Philistines took the Ark of God and set it next to their god Dagon. The next morning, Dagon had fallen and parts had broken off. They set Dagon back up, and then the next time they checked Dagon had fallen once again and broken. They decided, since they didn't want to lose their own idol, to get rid of the Ark of God… (see 1 Sam 5.7).

It is interesting to me to see so many people try to set up their relationship with God right alongside their own false ideas, habits, theories, and lifestyles. This week alone, Gary and I were told (by two different people), one, that whatever they believed about their relationship to Christ and going to heaven was good enough for them, and by another person that they just "run to the cross" but still commit fornication, drink, smoke and have foul language and knows "Jesus understands."

The truth of the matter is that our opinions don't count too much in changing what reality is. No matter what I believe about the Bible, its 3,000-year old timelessness will not be fazed! It will not diminish nor extinguish nor cease its truth because of what I believe about it!

The funny thing is where people GET their "ideas" from in the first place! They want to come against timeless and proven wisdom, but in its place is a smorgasbord of weird disjointed ideas they picked up from various sermons, various life experiences, and various philosophies without substance!

Or it is even MORE interesting to me when people are living in the consequences of bad choices how they can slam people that have made better choices with better consequences. My son often tells me that some people really don't WANT to make the effort to do things the way the Word instructs us to do things which is for OUR own good and HIS glory!

Sin is missing the mark. Missing the mark for our OWN lives. And the consequences of sin is slavery to sin, destruction, division, isolation, envy, strife, opulence, and from such you are robbed of true joy, and God can never be glorified in that!

As a parent, our wish is to "decrease" in order that our children "increase." We do ANYTHING for them to prosper and we consistently sacrifice our own good for theirs. The things we want for our children don't relate to anything for US: we want them to be FREE from things that will bring them down. We don't "get ANYTHING" out of the things we want for them. For example, we want them to be "debt free" because we know the stress debt would put on their relationships. Do WE get anything out of it? NO. But yet we have put a LOT into trying to help them stay debt free. Yet other people, who have put NOTHING in and are living in misery because they are NOT debt free want to pull our children's hearts away from us and talk down about our choices. It is almost hilarious but so subtle… And it is a tangible demonstration of spiritual warfare, because it is the same with the things God has DIED to give us to SET US FREE and how the "things of the world" with the tinsel and instantaneous gratification pull us away from the things that will make for our stability and true joy and ultimate prosperity.

The question is, "Is Jesus REALLY LORD"?? Is He really in charge of your life? Do you TRUST Him when He gives you COMMANDments, statutes, precepts for living, DESPITE the fact that it most often goes against your fleshly nature? Do you believe His Word above your own ideas? Do you "make NO provision for the flesh" knowing that you can become the SERVANT of sin if you yield yourself to it?! Do you KNOW that He wants the BEST for you – that all His precepts are so that your days on earth are like days of heaven?!! CONTRARY to what people who lack the humility to follow Christ's ways, or lack the strength or determination to go against the crowd will tell you, Christ's precepts and commands are not because He is on a "power trip" and wants to RUIN your life; rather, they are so that you have an AMAZING meaningful consistent life of FREEDOM.

We can't have it "both ways" – do "our own thing" and profess Jesus is LORD. James 4:4: You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world’s friend is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God.

Everything we see, read, do, hear, put in our bodies, etc., affects us somehow. That's why, to maintain a close relationship with God, we have to realize the importance and the impact of the things we do—the things we watch on TV, habits, activities we participate in, and the people we spend our time with. People are divided into only two categories, those who belong to the world and its ruler, Satan, and those who belong to God (Acts 26:18). These two groups of people are described in terms of opposites all through the Bible; e.g., those in darkness/those in the light; those with eternal life/those with eternal death; those who have peace with God/those who are at war with Him; those who believe the truth/those who believe the lies; those on the narrow path to salvation/those on the broad road to destruction, and many more. Clearly, the message of Scripture is that believers are completely different from nonbelievers, and it is from this perspective that we must discern what kind of friendships we can really have with unbelievers.

The book of Proverbs has a few wise verses on believers befriending non-believers: "The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray" (12:26). We should stay away from foolish people (13:20, 14:7), from people who lose their temper easily (22:24), and from the rebellious (24:21). All these things represent those who have not been saved. "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). First Corinthians 15:33 tells us that bad company corrupts good character. Unbelievers are slaves to sin (John 8:34), and Christians are slaves to God (1 Corinthians 7:22). If we become deeply involved (either by friendship or a romantic relationship) with non-Christians, we are setting ourselves up for turmoil. It can (and does often) cause the Christian to stumble in his walk, fall back into a sinful life, and also turn others away from God (by misrepresenting God and Christianity).

Another detrimental effect of closeness with unbelievers is our tendency to water down the truths of Scripture so as to not offend them. There are difficult truths in the Word of God, truths such as judgment and hell. When we minimize or ignore these doctrines or try to “soft pedal” them, in essence we are not helping them; and we are compromising to accommodate their lifestyles.

Although these close relationships are not recommended, it does not mean we turn our noses up and ignore unbelievers, either. Second Timothy 2:24-26 tells us that as servants of the Lord, we are to be kind to and not quarrel with anyone. We should gently teach those who oppose the truth, and be patient with difficult people. Matthew 5:16 tells us, “Let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly father.” We should serve unbelievers so that they may see God through us and turn to Him in praise. James 5:16 says that there is great power in the prayer of a righteous person, so bring your concerns for unbelievers before God, and He will listen.

Many people have been saved because of the prayers and service of Christians, so don't turn your back on unbelievers, but having any kind of intimate relationship with an unbeliever can quickly and easily turn into something that is a hindrance to your walk with Christ. We are called to evangelize the lost, not be intimate with them. There is nothing wrong with building quality friendships with unbelievers – but the primary focus of such a relationship should be to win them to Christ by sharing the Gospel with them and demonstrating God’s saving power in our own lives.

Over the years I have been blessed with many amazing friendships. Sadly, some were only for a time, and then choices my intimate friends made compelled me to either break the intimate friendship or give up a life of excellence I was pursuing that involved separating myself from things that could bring me down or compromise the high bar I had made for my standards. I appreciated one friend who literally told me that she was making choices in her life that I would not want to be a part of, and she encouraged me to not agree with her choices. After she reinforced that stand by not answering calls, etc., and when the years of following that path defined the path by the consequences, I know her love was so great for me that she did not want me to suffer the same consequences.

The fact of the matter is that compromise is the enemy of conviction. And although, like a fork in the road, a path of compromise can seem to be very close to a path of conviction, as you follow that path along, it separates further and further from the same destination. Many times you can only see it at the end – Hosea 8.7 – those that have sown the wind reap the whirlwind.

1Corinthians 15:33 Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt* and deprave good manners and morals and character. (word derived from "HABITS")

*5351. fqei÷rw phtheiro, fthi´-ro; probably strengthened from fqi÷w phthio (to pine or waste); properly, to shrivel or wither, i.e. to spoil (by any process) or (generally) to ruin (especially figuratively, by moral influences, to deprave): — corrupt (self), defile, destroy.

From a wise friend to another friend: Think for a moment of all the grains of sand on the entire earth and then multiply that by a million. That’s like eternity. Now take a single grain of sand and divide it by a thousand. That’s like our entire lifetime on earth. Yet what we do with our short time on earth determines everything for eternity. I’m not just talking heaven/hell. Each choice we make now is determining our place, our rewards or consequences, in eternity. It’s all about living for Jesus. The “pleasures” of this world only lead to destruction.

I have known many who have had advantages of good families, strong leadership positions, influential seminars they have attended and even hosted, only to throw all their advantages that should have equipped them for the storms of life away to conform to standards of people who have lacked any advantage at all or people that have faced one adversity after the other in their lives because of their wrong choices…

This to me is like have prepared sufficiently to climb Mt. Everest, having equipped yourself with the right gear that cost you, trained, and saved enough money to hire the Sherpas, get the necessary permits, and done the necessary research to know when to climb. THEN to cast all that aside to climb the Mountain… to just casually dump your gear at the side of the road and go to the airport and hope to get on a plane and disregard your research and just go at any old time, and join forces with a kamikaze maverick who doesn't believe any of that stuff anyways, since he is good at climbing and has made it through a few hikes anyways. As ludicrous as it sounds, that is what people do with their spiritual prowess: dump it at the side of the road to join forces with people who live their lives trying to disprove the timeless wisdom of Scripture and deny its consequences when you do. And sadly, although the fork in the road still allows you to glance over time and time again at the other road, eventually you will end up at an entirely different destination.

Amos 3:1-3 Listen to this, Israel. GOD is calling you to account—and I mean all of you, everyone connected with the family that he delivered out of Egypt. Listen!
“Out of all the families on earth,
I picked you.
Therefore, because of your special calling,
I’m holding you responsible for all your sins.”
Do two people walk hand in hand
if they aren’t going to the same place?

Our challenge is to NOT be "conformed" to the patterns of this world that AREN'T WORKING:

“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” (Rom 12:2-3 AMP)

Stay in the Word of God – know HIS wisdom that will lead you to true victory both now and for eternity! Learn to hear His voice and know His plan for your life! Come against anything that would threaten your relationship in right standing with Him! And live life with the meaning, purpose and value HE CREATED YOU to live it with!!!

Carpe diem!

The most important things in life...

Thank You for joining me today! Enjoy His Truth!

"For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business." James 1: 11

What is important in this life? Beauty? Riches? Our jobs? Status? Our homes? Cars? Boats? As the above verses say, they are all going to wither, be destroyed and/or fade away! This life is temporary! The work we do with our hands will someday perish! How important will the job we've done at work be 100 years from now? What condition will our car or boat be in? Think about the condition of our earthly bodies in 100 years!

What IS important?
The lives and souls of the people put in our paths!

What will we leave behind?
Prayerfully, we will impact others with the Love of God, His Hope, His Peace, and the Truth of Everlasting Life with Him!

Father God, we put too much importance on the things of this world! None of it will last! We won't take anything with us when we pass from this life to the next except the people You touch (sometimes by using us)! May we be Your Vessel Father to make a difference in the lives of the people around us! With Your touch we will not wither or fade away but live on forever with You!

Instead of achieving earthly goals we set for ourselves help us to focus on the journey, the trials and the stresses that come up and give us a chance to share a different way of handling situations! Help us to SEE these opportunities Father!

Please continue to be with those struggling in the body Father (Terri, Pete, Grace, Marion and others)! Please lay Your Healing Hands upon them! We ask for Your Perfect Will to be done in all these lives!

Please be with those struggling financially! Such a tough time for so many! Help us to help each other!

Please be with those struggling emotionally for so many different reasons! May they find JOY and Purpose in You! In serving You and Your children!

We ask that You would take care of our Military and their families! Please keep them safe and extra close to You!

We come before Your Throne in the Mighty Name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Walk Worthy...

Ephesians 4.1-16 (text at bottom)

Subject sentence: Walk worthy of the calling: the effectual working of each part of the body - joined and working according to what each joint supplies - increases/enlarges the body, building in pure (agape) love!

I. Guard ONENESS (absence of negative emotions with anyone; "joint tie"; bond)

Walk worthy of the calling of God on your life: with humility, longsuffering, forebearing - DILIGENT to guard and hold fast to oneness

Do I live with humility and longsuffering with others, forebearing, realizing that my MINISTRY as in ALL those who carry the name of Christ, is to be a BRIDGE OF RECONCILIATION uniting the ungodly to Christ?!

II. There is ONLY ONE body, Spirit, hope, Lord, faith, baptism and God - who is above all, through all, and in all, and we are given grace for the purpose of keeping ONENESS.

Do I realize that the grace God has given me, His Spirit inside me, His body, His baptism, is all given for ONENESS.

III. It is Christ that fills us all, making us ONE

Do I realize the purpose of His indwelling?

IV. He gives us all gifts to perfect us, minister and build His body to be ONE in faith and knowing Him and reflect His fulness

All the gifts He gives is to reflect the ONENESS He wants His body to have! Am I using my gifts towards that end?!

V. We're to grow up and not be deceived - knowing the body of Christ is effectual only if each PART of it is -- building in pure agape love

Do I keep my eye on the ENTIRE body of Christ, knowing I'm just a part - and see the importance of the whole body working together as ONE?!

2Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

2Peter 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 4:1   I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Ephesians 4:2   With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:17   This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20 But ye have not so learned Christ; 21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the devil. 28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

One Day at a Time!

Thank You for joining me today! May His Word uplift and strengthen you for THIS day!

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6: 34

Let us take ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!
Let us ENJOY the day our Lord has BLESSED us with!
There is already ENOUGH in THIS day to handle...
(that is an understatement-ha! )
...why are we worrying about tomorrow already??
Who knows, we may not even be here tomorrow!! Our Lord might call us HOME !!!
(Oh, Happy Day!!!)

Remember the Israelites in the desert? God gave them "manna" (bread to eat) for each day! Not for 2 or 3 days, but 1 day!!! They were to gather enough just for THAT day, no more! But some of them tried to save some for the next day and by morning "it was full of maggots and began to smell." (Exodus 16: 20b) They were not to think about tomorrow but to TRUST God that He would provide for each day!!!

When we think and worry about tomorrow, it becomes OVERWHELMING!!! Not that we aren't suppose to be smart and plan for our future, but not to worry and become obsessed that we don't enjoy what is in front of us THIS DAY!!! Let us not miss out on the JOYS of Today!!!!

Our Heavenly King, we THANK YOU for the example You give us in Your Word of the Israelites and how You Provided for them day after day after day!!! Help us to remember Father to TRUST You for each new day!! Especially, when trouble hits ("as each day has enough trouble of its own"), help us to draw strength from You!!!!

May we ENJOY each moment You give us!!!
Enjoy our time with You!
The gift of music, daily bread, shelter, rest, ...!
Your sunrise and sunset!
Enjoy Your Word!!!
Enjoy each other- family and friends, those You place in our lives!
Praising and Worshiping You!!
The opportunities put before us to spread Your Love and Truth!
The smile of a friend and/or stranger!
The encouragement from others, sent to us from You!
The birds, the quacking ducks and geese, the beauty or Your earth!
Enjoy the kindness shown to us!!
We always Enjoy being in Your Presence!!

As we face the troubles of THIS day Father we Thank You that there is so much to be thankful for!

We ask that You give Your Strength, Comfort, Hope and Peace to....
...those that are who have cancer (Terri, Pete, and Grace Turco)
... those that are grieving,
... who are depressed,
... those who are feeling hopeless,
... and who are financially burdened,
Help us all to TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!

May we stop and smell the roses and ENJOY Your Many Blessings!!!

In Your Son's Precious and MIGHTY Name we pray. Amen.

Power Beyond Measure

“For this reason [seeing the greatness of this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name]. May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]— To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).”
(Eph 3:14-21 AMP)

What a great Scripture for my two daughters' wedding week!

1. For the greatness of His plan by which we are built together in Christ, I BOW...

Have YOU "bowed" your heart, yielded YOUR way, and made Jesus LORD for the greatness of HIS plan for you??

2. God has strengthened me by HIS Spirit dwelling in me:

-according to the riches of His grace
-strengthened (empowered) with MIGHT (that word is DUNAMIS -- like DYNAMITE! --) - FORCE, MIRACULOUS POWER, ABUNDANCE, MEANING (also translated "virtue"!)

Have YOU been EMPOWERED with FORCE and MIRACULOUS POWER, ABUNDANCE, MEANING and VIRTUE coming from His Spirit residing IN YOU??!!

-rooted and grounded in love, we are able to understand with all saints the breadth/length/depth/height and know the love of Christ which is BEYOND mere knowledge, being filled with the fulness of God

Have YOU been rooted and grounded in love, doing all in love through Him, so that you can understand the purpose and empowerment of HIS love in YOU to be given out so that you personally KNOW AND EXPERIENCE even BEYOND head knowledge the kind of LOVE He has...

3. God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think, according to that DYNAMITE POWER that WORKS (is active and efficient) IN us!!!

Is His DYNAMITE POWER active in your life today? Is He able to do BEYOND BELIEF -- ABUNDANTLY above all you could possibly "[dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]".

4. Unto HIM be glory throughout all ages!!!

Is He GLORIFIED in your life today -- DO NOT LIMIT His power inside you: GLORIFY THE LORD today!

A Great Mystery Made Known to US!

It has been said that everyone loves a great mystery. My Bible study today was about a “mystery” which Christ let us in on. The mystery given to us to know (Matt 13.11; Luke 8.10), that we’re cautioned NOT to be ignorant of (Rom 11.25), and that we are STEWARDS of! (1 Cor 4.1). This mystery was hidden before Christ, but now is made known to us (Col 1.26). This mystery gives our lives eternal purpose and value.

Mystery: something difficult or impossible to understand or explain.

Subject Sentence: the mystery is CHRIST IN YOU THE HOPE OF GLORY (Col 1.26)

Aim of this passage: To realize the mystery of Christ and live out the reason for it.

I. CAUSE of the mystery:

Dispensaion of the grace of God given me towards others (Eph 3.2)

Application ?: Am I giving out the grace of God to others???

II. DEFINITION of the mystery

That others should be fellow heirs and of same body and partakers of God’s promise in Christ by the gospel. (Eph 3.6)

Application ?: Am I a bridge of reconciliation to others, demonstrating the purpose of God?

III. FELLOWSHIP of the mystery

It is a GIFT of the grace of God, given to me by the working of His power, to give to others to make all see the fellowship of the mystery and the unsearchable riches of Christ (Eph 3.7-9)

Application ?: Am I ministering grace to others according to the effectual working of Christ’s power in me??

IV. INTENT of the mystery

Unto principalities and powers might be known the manifold wisdom of God through the Church (Eph 3.10)

Application ?: Does my life declare the wisdom of God which is for the express purpose of reaching others?

“For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.”
(Eph 3:1-13 KJVS)

There is a Time to Give and a Time to Receive

1st verse-
"And if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday." Isaiah 58: 10

There are so many of us that share the Word together each day that are struggling financially, some fall into the category of "being hungry", some "are opressed", weighed down and some are both! This is a very tough, intense time in many lives! A time when we are brought closer to our Lord! A time when we are to TRUST HIM to take care of us when it seems impossible. As I glance over our list I am amazed by the ones I do know that are battling this mountain!

The above verse also applies to the rest of you, who have given from your hearts and have overwhlemed those in need. "YOU ARE a LIGHT in the darkness!!" You are the HOPE in the middle of despair!! As one recipient cried out, "But I want to do something! I want to give back to them! I want to show my appreciation! I want to help other people like I am being helped!"

To those receiving the Blessings,
IT IS YOUR TIME TO BE BLESSED BY OUR LORD
through those He has placed in your life!!
IT IS YOUR TIME TO RECEIVE HIS GOODNESS!
IT IS YOUR TIME TO BE HUMBLED and RECOGNIZE HIS GRACE!!!

BUT, the TIME IS COMING TO GIVE BACK!!!!! Look at what the Lord says....

2nd verse- "Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be EQUALITY. At the present time your PLENTY will SUPPLY what they NEED, so that IN TURN their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be EQUALITY!!!!!!!!." 2 Corinthians 8: 13-14

There is a TIME for everything under the sun!!!! There is a TIME to GIVE and there is a TIME to RECEIVE!! God has encouraged us to help each other in their time of need so that we can all be EQUAL!! He is SO WISE!!!!

Abba Father, we THANK YOU for Your Wise Words this day, for the encouragement You give us to help those who are weighed down by the circumstances of this world!! We all need help at one time or another and You encourage us to BE THERE for each other.
Sometimes we are the GIVER- the provider ....
and sometimes we are the RECEIVER of many Blessings!!
You place us in each others lives at JUST THE RIGHT TIME!
Help us to RECOGNIZE the times You want us to help certain people!!
Help us to be a LIGHT in a very dark world!!!!

We Thank You for the LIGHTS You have sent into the lives of so many Lord!!! Thank You for Your Unconditional LOVE and the way You Love us so COMPLETELY!!!! We REST in Your Arms!!!

Who We Are Under Pressure Reveals Who We REALLY Are!

-"Who we are under pressure reveals who we really are!"-

These days are filled (or shall I say jammed packed) with activities, to-do items, and just plain business! when the lists mount... so does the stress. stress is too often our re-ACTION to the external environment. Does that mean that we are not supposed to have times in our lives when responsibility and action items need to take place? no... in this life we will have "floods" and "trials." How are we re-ACTING to them!

This verse really hit me. (if you want to see the entire study I got them from check it out here: http://www.bible.com/bibleanswers_result.php?id=127

Luke 6:48"I will show you who he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them in to practice. He is like a man building a house who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came the torrents struck that house but could not shake it because it was well built." Luke 6:48.

"Jesus didn't say that once we built our house on the rock that everything would be perfect. No, He said that a flood came in torrents smashing against the house. The key is that the house was built on the rock of Jesus, and the rock of putting His words into practice.

Is your house built on Jesus?

Did you dig your foundation deep into Him, or was the house hastily erected?

Is your salvation based on a prayer you prayed once or is it growing out of a committed relationship to Him?

Do you come to Him every day, every hour?

Are you putting His words into practice in your life?

The JUST shall LIVE by FAITH

Reading Habukkuk- this is a book about a conversation with a prophet with God. Habukkuk is crying out to God because he doesn't understand how the wicked are overthrowning the righteous!!! He is confused that the wicked prevail, they are spitting in God's face... how can God even tolerate it!! In Chapter 2 Habukkuk says... I WILL WAIT FOR THE LORD TO ANSWER MY PRAYER.. in Vs. 2 and GOD ANSWERED HIM AND SAID "Write the vision, and make it plain about tables, that he may RUN that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an APPOINTED time, but at the END it shall SPEAK, and not lie, THOUGH it TARRY, WAIT for it, because it will surely come, it WILL NOT tarry!!! vs. 4 and the JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH...

God was telling me.. Hannah even when the world seems to be winning, when you are beaten down and you feel like you are the only one overwhelmed with research, school, wedding planning, moving... and everyone else that is not Christian or serving God seems to be stress free, getting great job offers and into specialist postions..... WAIT FOR YOUR VISION!!!! WRITE IT DOWN... AND WAIT FOR IT!!!! I have a plan and a purpose for you... and when you get it... RUN WITH IT!!!!! you have to LIVE BY FAITH that it will come... it may take TIME... but it will come... LIVE BY FAITH... knowing that you serve a God that all his promises are YES AND AMEN.. that when you are concerned with things of this world... that stuff DOESN'T MATTER TO ME!!!!! Only the advancement of MY kingdom and YOUR HEART matters to me... so trust in me... live by FAITH TODAY... knowing that I have a perfect plan for you!

AWESOME

Quit Stressin'!

Great reminder from Jesse --

2 Chronicles 1:10-12

10 Give me the wisdom and knowledge to lead them properly, for who could possibly govern this great people of yours?”

11 God said to Solomon, “Because your greatest desire is to help your people, and you did not ask for wealth, riches, fame, or even the death of your enemies or a long life, but rather you asked for wisdom and knowledge to properly govern my people—12 I will certainly give you the wisdom and knowledge you requested. But I will also give you wealth, riches, and fame such as no other king has had before you or will ever have in the future!”

Luke 10:41-42

41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! 42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

2 Samuel 22:31-32

31 “God’s way is perfect.
All the Lord’s promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
32 For who is God except the Lord?
Who but our God is a solid rock?

Just had these verses come to me yesterday morning as I was stressing and becoming anxious sometimes I realize that I am PURSUING the wrong thing and not staying focused on what God CALLED us to focus on. So as I was feeling that all of my effort was not equalling success God gave me these scriputers to say JESSE stay focused on the things I have told you to focus on everything else will be added and I will gift you as no other man/women has ever been gifted.

GOD is our ROCK and a STRONG shield for those to look to him for protection.

The Fulness of Him that Fills ALL in ALL

I. The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, Father of glory, gives me His Spirit of wisdom and revelation in KNOWING Him.

*Do I KNOW Him (in the fellowship in His suffering; in the POWER of His
resurrection – Phil. 3.10 – being conformable unto His death)?
*Do I have His Spirit of wisdom and revelation as a result?

HOW DO I KNOW HIM –
*the word “know” is from the Greek word “eido” – “TO SEE” or
Greek word “ginesko” – “TO BE AWARE OF, CONSCIOUS OF,
COME TO REALIZE/UNDERSTAND, PERCEIVE”
*THE PROBLEM: Acts 28.26-27 - Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
The Message puts it this way: “You’re going to listen with your ears,
but you won’t hear a word;
You’re going to stare with your eyes,
but you won’t see a thing.
These people are blockheads!
They stick their fingers in their ears
so they won’t have to listen;
They screw their eyes shut
so they won’t have to look,
so they won’t have to deal with me face-to-face
and let me heal them.”
Luke 8.10 tells us that …unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in para-
bles; that seeing they might not see and hearing they
might not understand.

*God is WORKING – whether you are aware of it or not; you
NEED to be “tuned in” to what He is doing, like in 2 Kings 6.14
when the Syrian king sent horses, chariots and a great army
surrounded the city. Elisha’s servant asked ‘what will we do?”
And Elijah answered “fear not, but those that are with US are
more than those with them.” Elisha prayed “Lord open his eyes
that he may see,” and the Lord opened his eyes and he saw the
mountain was FULL of horses, chariots and fire of God all around
Elisha.
Do YOU SEE what God is doing around you? Do you SEE His
hand working in your life? Are your eyes OPEN to the workings
of the supernatural Lord in your life, or do you “explain away” all
of His power?

*Do you KNOW Him? Dan. 11.32 …the people that do KNOW
their God shall be STRONG and do EXPLOITS… Ps 9.10 …they
that KNOW Thy Name will put their trust in Thee…

*If you eyes are distracted, you will not recognize Him, as
the disciples on the road to Emmaus… but then when they
walked with Him awhile and talked with Him and saw Him
THEN (Luke 24.31) …their eyes were open and they KNEW
Him.
WALK with Him, TALK with Him, pursue Him, and
(Jer 9.24) …let him that glorieth glory in this, that he under-
stands and KNOWS Me, that I am the Lord which exercise
lovingkindness, judgment & righteousness in the earth: for in
these things I delight, saith the Lord…

II. Being enlightened I may know the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance, and the greatness of His power according to His power working in me.

*Do I know the hope of His calling?
*Do I know the riches of the glory of His inheritance? -- WHAT have I inherited
from Him?
*Do I personally know the greatness of His power according to the working of
HIS power?!

III. The power which God showed in Christ by raising Him from the dead and setting
Him at His right hand above all and putting Him to be head over all things is OURS: the Church is to be the fullness of Him who fills ALL and is IN all.

*Do I show forth His power
~raised from death
~over all things – above all principality, power, might, dominion
~all things under my feet

Summary/subject sentence: The greatness and working of His mighty power is to fill all in all.

The AIM of this passage of Scripture is that I KNOW Him and ALLOW Him to fill me with all He died to give me… and that the overflow of KNOWING Him works EXPLOITS in the earth!

Don't Open the Door to Satan Even a CRACK!

Great reminder from Kim!!!

Begin forwarded message:

"and do not give the devil a foothold." Ephesians 4: 27

As the Study Bible says, "Personal sin is usually due to our evil desires rather than to direct tempting by the devil. However, Satan can use our sins- especially those, like anger, that are against others- to bring about greater evil, such as divisions among Christians."

Satan is very crafty and sneaky! His goal is not to be noticed or given any credit, but for us to turn away from God!!!! He will do anything to achieve that goal.
... He will use our own weaknesses to turn us against each other (fellow Christians),
... he will use the provacative things of this world to get us to push God aside,
... he encourages us to worship ourselves (that way we won't be worshipping the One
deserving our praise!)
... he will keep us too busy so we don't take the time to know the things of God-
we just drift away from Him, little by little.

How scary! God warns us today ...
... not to even slightly open the door to the devil- not even a crack!
... not to let his lies become our truth!!!!! Or distort God's Truth!!!
... not to listen to his temptations!

Satans main objective is to keep us from knowing or remembering what is in our Love Letter from God!!

He will distract us, not necessarily with bad things but many times with constructive things that become way too important! Things that seem alright but can be used to keep us from reading the Truth, like.....too much church work, work, too many outside activities, too much sleep or food, time with friends becoming more important than time with our King, t.v., movies- if it keeps us out of God's Word, he is happy!

But, we are always VICTORIOUS with God!!! Amen!
God WARNS us to KEEP HIM CLOSE!!!! Be IN the TRUTH!!!!

"Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads," Deuteronomy 11: 18

"And the words of the Lord are flawless..." Psalm 12: 6

"The unfolding of Your words gives light;
it gives understanding to the simple." Psalm 119: 130

"All Your words are true!" Psalm 119: 160

Our Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your warnings! Thank You for encouraging us to be ON GUARD against the evil, destructive one!
Your Words help us to fight off harmful and wrong thoughts!!!
Your Words encourage us in the midst of turmoil!!
Your Words warn us about the corruption that surrounds us!
Your Words show us ways to build, with Your help, Your Kingdom for Eternity!
Your Words give us guidelines on how to live in this wicked world!
Your Words are LOVE!!!!!

We Thank You for family and friends Father! We Thank You for the good and the bad! May everything that happens strengthen us in our walk with You!

In Your Son's LIVING Name we pray. Amen.

Words Without Deeds: The Vice of Religion

It would be a convenient arrangement were we so constituted that we could not talk better than we live. For reasons known to God, however, there seems to be no necessary connection between our speaking and our doing; and here ies one of the deadliest snares in the religious lie I am afraid we modern Christians are long on talk and short on conduct. We use the language of power but our deeds are the deeds of weakness.

I love reading ANYTHING by A. W. Tozer: he challenges me with the Word of God applied to my life. In his book, "Born After Midnight," the above opening paragraph is the beginning of a few pertinent thoughts I want to share from the short chapter on Words Without Deeds: The Vice of Religion. Continuing:

Our Lord and His apostles were LONG on deeds. The Gospels depict a Man walking in power, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10.38). The moral relation between words and deeds appears quite plainly in the life and teachings of Christ. He DID before He spoke, and the doing gave validity to the speaking.

Luke wrote of "all that Jesus began both to do and to tech," and I am sure that the order expressed there is NOT accidental. In the Sermon on the Mount, Christ placed doing before teaching: "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so..." (Matt. 5.19)

Unquestionable there is not another institution in the world that talks as much and does as little as the church. Any factory that required as much raw material for so small a finished product would go bankrupt in six months...

We settle for words in religion because deeds are too costly. It is easier to pray, "Lord help me to carry my cross daily" than to PICK UP THE CROSS AND CARRY IT, but since the mere request for help to do something we do not actually intend to do has a certain degree of religious comfort, we are content with repetition of the words.

CHALLENGE: How do we escape the snare of words without deeds? It is simple, though not easy. First, let us say nothing we do not mean. Break the habit of conventional religious chatter. Speak only as we are ready to take the consequences. Believe God's promises and obey His commandments. Practice the truth and we may with propriety speak the truth. Deeds give body to words. As we do acts of power our words will take on authority and a new sense of reality will fill our hearts.

Consequences....

A great reminder Bible study from Kim!

"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6: 23

This verse is all about consequences! I have 3 grandsons (3,2, and a 1 year old) and their mothers teach them all about consequences. For every action we take there is a consequence (good or bad), whether we are a toddler or an adult. Our actions dictate our future in this life.
There will be consequences if we are caught shoplifting.
There will be a consequence if we throw a temper tantrum (and we all know how to do
that, even as adults!)
There will be a consequence if we talk back to our parent or our boss!
There will be consequences if we are caught speeding!
There will be consequences if we are unfaithful to our spouse!
There will be consequences if we hit our sibling or get into a brawl.
There are consequences when we are rude, unloving, and mean- it negatively
effects those around us!
There are consequences for getting roped into participating in unhealthy activities.
There are consequences for not taking your medicine and/or not taking care of your
health.
There will be consequences when we divorce!
There are consequences for being too prideful!
There are consequences for not being forgiving!
(Oh, this list could on and on for days!!! )

Our "SS" speaks about consequences, "The wages of sin is death!" That is our consequence!!! It gets right to the point! There is no way around it! Except for the fact, "but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Alleluia!

We can't do anything about the consequences we have in this world from our actions but we are assured that we are forgiven (when we are repentive) and our Father God freely offers us freedom and eternal life with Him, His Son and The Holy Spirit forever and ever!!!

Father God, Help us to LEARN from our actions and consequences! May they be a stepping stone in our walk with You! Lord, we can't be thankful enough for the gift You offer us! Complete forgiveness from our sins (when we are truly sorry and truly want to cease from behaving in the same way again) and eternal life with the Trinity!!! Thank You Father for Your Great Love!!!!

A "Show of the Flesh" or "Living in the Spirit"?

Galatians 6.11-18 (see below)

I. A show of the flesh requires adherence to rules to avoid the cross and its persecution
Application: Have I picked up the cross fo Christ DAILY - denying the flesh to follow Christ in His ways?

II. Glory in the cross - which by Christ the world is crucified unto me and me to the world - instead of glorying in keeping the law.
Application: How is the world crucified unto me and how am I crucified unto the world today -- THAT is the glory of the cross and the evidence of the Spirit of God in my life!

III. A new creation avails much in Christ
Application: ALL things have become new: what evidence of my being a NEW creation is there today??!!

IV. When I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus, NO MAN can trouble me!
Application: Does my body bear the mark/ownership of Jesus as Lord, or do I let MAN trouble and agitate me?!

Is my GLORY in the flesh or by living in the Spirit -- Christ in me the hope of glory?!

“Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.”
(Gal 6:11-18 KJVS)

A Well-Deserved Tribute

Colossians 4:17 ...Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

I was fortunate to attend a life-changing event the other night: a retirement party for Richard Mallino. What an amazing tribute to a man who has invested year upon year into Christian education. Richard had a vision to train children not only academically but spiritually as well.

When it came time to send my children off to school, I was keenly aware that my husband and I were the ones who were going to give account of how we raised them. I realized that putting them in school represented the MAJORITY of time for most of their lives. If I had to relinquish the responsibility and send them away for day upon day, month upon month, year upon year, I had a very strong realization that the focus, friendships and relationships surrounding them, AND the authority I put them under needed to have the same heart, mind, and spirit that I would raise them with and support my values.

For that reason, we sacrificed extremely to put our children in Christian schools. Little did I realize that the sacrifice in itself guaranteed that the families that also put THEIR children in Christian school, families my children would be surrounded with and hang out with as their friends' families, had very strong core convictions.

The teachers, having had to sacrifice higher salaries, had in mind a MINISTRY of pouring into the lives of children for the Lord.

Was it perfect? No. But I believe that when you seek the LORD and HIS righteousness, everything else would be added. When I turned my children over to others to raise them or take a huge part in raising them, I knew that those I turned them over to would be praying with and for them, seeking their spiritual good, and pouring into their lives for success. I knew their friends would come from families that wanted to see the Lord glorified in such a way that they sacrificed vacations, clothes, and even housing to surround their children with Christian values.

There were many many incidents of kids that did wrong things in the school, but it was the minority, and was not respected by the majority of kids.

Richard Mallino poured his life, love, spiritual energy, and support into being a part of thousands upon thousands of kids' lives. I love the way one speaker said that he fought for kids, for the Lord, and for the teachers. He fought to keep the school and the vision alive, even against financial problems and even with a constant barrage of stones being thrown (as is always the case with leadership).

I was very challenged by the testimony of Richard's vocation: his life impacted many kids, many parents, many families, and even many generations to come. Not many people can impact the number of people that Richard did in his vocation. He was faithful to what Christ called and equipped him to do.

I know that my children were recipients of the benefits of his dedication. My children serve the Lord today because of the people that poured into their lives, and the friendships, and even the dating relationships that were made because of Christian education. Their faith was supported and bolstered instead of torn down. I planted, the school watered, and GOD gave increase. I also am so grateful that my children didn't have to go through huge, destructive lessons to see the power of God. I am humbly aware of the part that Christian school played in the spiritual lives and convictions in my family.

Yes, as Matthew 25.23 says, "Well done good and faithful servant." May we all be encouraged to live our lives to impact others and fulfill the ministry Christ left US here to do. I am challenged...

Trial of our Faith

Thanks to Kim for this great reminder!

"who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith- of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." 1 Peter 1: 5-7

We are given ETERNITY! We are shielded by God's Power! Wow! We have it all! But, with that, for a little while, comes grief and suffering of all kinds! Positives and Negatives together!

As the Study Bible explains verse 7, "Not only is the faith itself precious, but Peter's words indicate that the trial of faith is also valuable."

We see that the negatives, suffering, grief, and trials, are turned into positives when our faith is strengthened through these difficult times. Our faith is expressed through praises and thanks to Jesus in all things, including the rough spots!
Our faith is proved genuine!
Through our faith our Lord is especially seen during the difficult times!

Anyone can sing praises to our King when things are going well, the way we want them to go! But, singing praises to the Almighty One as we face joblessness, sickness, cruelty, .... is when our faith shines brighter than ever! This is when others truly SEE Jesus in us! This is when we feel (and know) the closeness of our Father the most, when He is comforting us!

Father God, Thank You for being by our side at all times!
Thank You for Your extra comforting Arms when we need them the most!
Thank You for promising us a new life and Hope!
Thank You for always looking after us!
Thank You that we can ALWAYS COUNT on You!
THANK YOU FOR BRINGING GOOD OUT OF THE BAD THAT COMES OUR WAY!
Thank You for strengthening our faith during our times of struggling!

All Praise, Honor, and Glory go to You O' Lord!!! May our lives always point upward!

We NEED to Hear from God!

Great Bible study, Kim!

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed." Mark 1: 35

There is a saying I've seen in several stores. It says,
"Make time for quiet moments as God whispers and the world is loud."

It also says in Psalm 46: 10a,

"Be still, and know that I am God."

God is telling us that we need to separate ourselves from this noisy world so we can HEAR Him!! Let us find a time and place where we can regularly meet with Him. He waits patiently, every day, to hear from us.

He is waiting in the Living Room of our heart! (from Robert Boyd Mungers little book entitled, "My Heart- Christ's Home")

Meeting with Almighty God is NOT what the evil one wants us to do because it will change our lives! So let us turn to our Father for strength to fight the temptations of busyness.

Our Heavenly King, there are distractions all around us! It is hard to stay focused! Please FORGIVE us when we say, "It is difficult to find extra time to be with You!" You ARE our #1 PRIORITY! There is nothing more important in our day than You! No deadline! No meeting! No homework! Help us to see Father that setting time aside to be with You will bring everything else in our lives together! Everything important will get done! Help us to start new habits! Help us to start and end each day with You! We look forward to our time together and all You can teach us!!

We come before Your Throne in the Mighty Name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Fitting In or Pleasing God??

Good reminder from Kim for today!

"If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His Father's Glory with the Holy Angels." Mark 8: 38

Whoa!!! Powerful words!! If you think those are cutting words, let us also look at what the Study Bible notes say, "A person who is more concerned about fitting into and pleasing his own 'adulterous and sinful generation' than about following and pleasing Christ will have no part in God's Kingdom!!!

So, we think we can have it both ways, but we can't!!
We are either standing up for Him or spitting in His face!
We are either telling crude jokes or walking away when they are told!
We are either watching movies/TV that edify us or we are taking part of an adulterous generation!
We are either praising Him with our words or we are cursing Him!
We are either looking to the media to see what will make us happy or to His Word!
We are either FOR Christ or we are AGAINST Him!!!

The 2nd part of what the Study Bible notes explain is just as powerful, "The situation in which Jesus is rejected, humiliated and put to death will be reversed when He returns in Glory as the Judge of all men."

Father God, You are a JUST and LOVING God! If there were no consequences, there would be no limits, no boundaries, no choice to make, no love!!

Just because something looks inviting doesn't mean it is good for us! YOU KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR US, Father!!! Help us to Trust You in all things!! May we turn to You for the guidance and direction we need because we are sure to mess it all up!

Please forgive us Father God for being a part of this sinful generation! May we learn to more and more like You! May our actions and words Glorify You!!!

Continue to be with those who are hurting, physically and emotionally! Keep them close to You and give them Your Strength and Peace!!

We come to You in the Amazing Name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.
